- Swedish Massage: By far the most popular and well known type of massage modality is Swedish massage or sometimes called a “relaxation massage”. This technique uses gentler strokes to help rid the body of physical and mental stress to achieve a sense of overall well-being.
- Deep Tissue: Deep tissue massage uses many of the same strokes and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be stronger. The goal is a longer term effect on muscle tissue at deeper level.
- Body Stretching: Proper stretching should be an integral part of any fitness and health routine. Stretching is the process of gently applying pressure to lengthen and relax tight muscles . Adding stretching to a massage therapy session will add techniques to increase a muscles elasticity and flexibility.
